EBMed is a nonprofit educational organization that strives to improve care for gastrointestinal (GI) patients through evidence-based continuing medical education (CME). It focuses on inflammatory bowel diseases, esophageal disorders, obesity management, and endoscopic innovation.

To further CME education, EBMed will host the 2nd Great GI Debates from March 14 to March 16, 2025, at the Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood Beach, Florida. This hybrid event combines CME sessions with various mentorship and networking opportunities. EBMed’s 2nd Great GI Debates will present programming in a variety of specific educational formats, including debate, case presentation, “top tip” video, and “how I do it” presentation.

The debate format features two senior GI faculty members who argue different sides of a controversial clinical issue, with a third senior faculty member acting as a judge. A jury of six early-career GI faculty members will determine the most persuasive argument by vote.

Next, the case presentation at the 2nd Great GI Debates will focus on a HIPAA-compliant patient with specific treatment options. A team of early-career faculty members will present the case to a panel of senior faculty members, who will determine the best treatment option by vote.

Finally, the “How I do it” presentation will offer expert advice on integrating clinical trial data and experience into patient management. At the same time, the “top tip” video program asks early career faculty members to record 15-minute posts that address various clinical issues.
